A new significant approval for seaplane take-offs and landings has been finalized…! The development of the national seaplane network is moving forward, as the destination of Kyllini has officially received the “green light” from the competent authorities, paving the way for the operational launch of seaplane services.
Kyllini is now entering the map of maritime aviation, becoming a gateway to the Ionian Islands as well as a connection point with approved destinations such as Alimos, Kalamata, Erateini and Patras, serving as a strategic hub for Hellenic Seaplanes.
At the same time, the company, in close cooperation with the Municipality of Kyllini – Andravida and Mayor Mr. Ioannis Lentzas, as well as the Kyllini Port Fund, led by its President Mr. Konstantinos Chantzis, has already completed the land-based infrastructure and with the installation of the floating mooring dock, is getting ready for the first flights.
Specifically, Hellenic Seaplanes, as in the case of Kalamata, is preparing pilot familiarization flights to the port of Kyllini in the near future, with the aim of allowing the residents of Ilia to become acquainted firsthand with seaplanes and their capabilities.
With the announcement of the approval of the Kyllini Water Field, the President and CEO of Hellenic Seaplanes, Mr. Nicolas Charalambous, emphasized: «Kyllini officially joins our network, offering seaplanes direct access to the Ionian Sea and the Peloponnese. The infrastructure approval represents another decisive step toward the launch of regular routes that will bring travelers closer to unique travel experiences. Hellenic Seaplanes, in collaboration with the local community and relevant authorities, is moving forward dynamically to realize its vision of a fully operational network of water airports throughout Greece.
On his part, the Mayor of Kyllini, Mr. Lentzas, stated:

It creates new opportunities for tourism development, enhances the outward appeal of our area, and brings Kyllini closer to the Ionian Islands and the rest of the Peloponnese. The Municipality will continue to actively support new investments in the area and will stand as a strong ally in the implementation of similar significant projects».
The President of the Municipal Port Fund of Kyllini, Mr. Konstantinos Chantzis,emphasized:
«The operation of the Kyllini Water Airport is a strategic addition to our port and creates new prospects for mobility and tourism development».
