The relaunch of seaplanes in Greece is now a reality! With strategic planning and determination, Hellenic Seaplanes<\/strong> continues its flights, proving that the future of transportation\u2026 lands precisely on water!<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the successful landing of the blue-and-white seaplane in the port of Volos and its swift departure to Skopelos \u2014 in just 13 minutes! \u2014 the flights continue non-stop. Volos is now firmly established as a key gateway connecting mainland Greece with the islands of the Sporades.<\/span><\/p>\n

Greece spreads its wings…<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

\n\u201cToday\u2019s seaplane landing in the port of Volos is more than just a spectacular image \u2014 it is proof that maritime air transport in Greece is no longer a vision but a reality. Volos, thanks to its strategic location, is ready to play a pivotal role in connecting the mainland with the islands, enhancing accessibility, tourism, and regional development. We want seaplanes to become an integral part of citizens\u2019 daily lives, and we will support every step in that direction.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The seaplane landing<\/strong> in Volos, once again, drew attention and excitement. Locals and visitors alike welcomed the aircraft that opens new connectivity possibilities for the city and the wider region.<\/span><\/p>\n

A little later, the seaplane took off from the port of Volos en route to the turquoise waters of Skopelos<\/strong>. The warm reception upon its arrival in Skopelos, along with the commitment of local authorities and supporters of this new initiative, proves that seaplanes are not just another experiment \u2014 they are a new chapter in Greek transportation.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the port, the Mayor of Skopelos, Mr. Stamatis Perissis<\/strong>, a supporter of the seaplane project and its potential to bring the Sporades islands closer to mainland Greece, Volos, and Athens<\/strong>, stated:<\/span>
\n\u201cSkopelos spreads its wings and welcomes seaplanes as a modern means of connection with the rest of Greece. Today is a significant day for our island, as we finally see solutions that overcome geographic barriers and boost tourism, the local economy, and residents’ quality of life. Seaplanes are not a luxury \u2014 they are a necessity for our islands. We eagerly await the official launch of scheduled routes.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Schinoussa, Irakleia, Amorgos, Koufonisia, and Donoussa<\/strong> are no longer remote or hard-to-reach destinations. Following their successful licensing, they are getting ready to welcome the seaplanes that are here to stay<\/strong>. Island Greece is turning a new page.<\/span><\/p>\n
