Hellenic Seaplanes takes over the facilities and management of the water airport on the island!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The port of Skyros is leveling up, as it will be one of the first in Greece to welcome seaplanes, soon acquiring its own complete water airport!<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>updated decision for the infrastructure has been approved<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the <\/span><b>Skyros Port Authority and the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> while the acceptance certificate for the technical file has been signed by the <\/span><b>Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Michalis Papadopoulos.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These approvals mean that the <\/span><b>Skyros Water Airport IKE,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a subsidiary of <\/span><b>Hellenic Seaplanes, which is managing the project in Skyros<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, can now proceed with the installation of the water airport facilities and the request for the issuance of a license for <\/span><b>the establishment and operation of the infrastructure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the island.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> crucial role<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in these positive developments has been played by the <\/span><b>Skyros Port Fund and specifically its President, Mr. Kyriakos Antonopoulos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who believed from the beginning in the importance of the port acquiring a water airport and the potential that seaplanes can bring to the island&#8217;s transportation options and the upgrade of its tourist identity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Skyros Water Airport plans are ready!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the construction of the water airport on the horizon,<\/span><b> Hellenic Seaplanes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is in close communication with the <\/span><b>Skyros Port Fund,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> having already presented the first samples of how the land and water facilities will look during their full implementation phase. In the coming period, the<\/span><b> signage for the water airport will be placed at the construction site.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the immediate possibility of developing water airport facilities in Skyros, comments were made by the President and<\/span><b> CEO of Hellenic Seaplanes, Mr. Nicolas Charalambous,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>the President of Skyros Port Fund, Mr. Kyriakos Antonopoulos.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Nicolas Charalambous:<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are entering the construction stage for the facilities in Skyros, and it\u2019s something that excites us particularly because we are getting closer to the realization of the project! The flawless cooperation with the Port Authority and Mr. Antonopoulos makes Hellenic Seaplanes raise the bar even higher, aiming for Skyros to receive the commercial and tourism upgrade it deserves through its water airport. With persistence, vision, and endless work! Seaplanes can offer endless travel options without being restricted to the narrow limits of a ferry or airline route. Their chartering ability, beyond regular schedules, expands horizons! My excitement and satisfaction from being involved in the creation and establishment of a new transportation mode is immense, and the prospects opening up for Skyros will be decisive for the island&#8217;s development, its social and tourism extroversion, and growth!
